Everyday Beauty

I’m having so much fun listening to inspiring women as I stitch recently!

I just finished listening to an empowering, enlivening, optimistic, pleasure-affirming conversation between Cheryl Richardson and Christiane Northrup. Menopausal symptoms as signals that it’s time to start living fully and authentically… Makes me feel like the best days are still to come.

And last week, I was inspired once again by the amazing Jill Bolte Taylor. I’d watched her TED talk multiple times last year. Now, I discovered her interview with Oprah Winfrey and found it even more powerful.

So moved, I decided to give 10% of some recent unexpected income to the Harvard Brain Bank which Dr. Jill supports. I made the $50 donation in honor of Dr. Jill and felt satisfied.

A few days later, I received a message from Jill Taylor thanking me for the donation. When I responded telling her how moved I’d been by her talks, I thought the conversation was finished. But no! She responded with a personal note saying she’d visited my website and now understood our connection. She ended up thanking ME for the work that I’m doing! I feel like a child in awe after seeing her favorite Disney character come to life and talk directly to her! So exciting.

And, of course, I’m excited to have another call with Christine tomorrow. Good week on the inspiration front. Helps me get through the muckier stuff.

Now back to stitching!

Looks like you’re surrounding yourself with wonderfully inspiring people. It’s been a busy week, but I’ll definitely line these interviews up to listen to as I try to keep myself on track. Thanks a bunch for sharing.

  • Thank you Leslie!
I love the story about “Dr Jill”. It is wonderful how the internet has made these sort of connections possible.
I just finished my 7 weeks of “upleveling” and am listening to the daily lessons over again. All I can say is “wow”.
I love your work and know it would be wonderful to see one of your pieces in person. I am sure they are amazing!
    Have a great week.

Thanks, Louise. Have you listened yet?

Hi Dianne. It’s been great upleveling and blog triaging with you. Please do come see my work in person one day. I think we’re both in California sometimes… Let’s look for opportunities.

    All the best!
